DFT wants to help you get elected and we've got the tools and expertise to do it. We can help you plan your campaign, help you articulate your message, find and organize volunteers and put together a winning field plan.

And we do it for free for candidates we endorse.

Here's what a DFT endorsement can mean for you:

• Access. Thousands of Progressives across Tennessee turn to us to find out which candidates to support in upcoming elections. A DFT endorsement has clout.
  
  
• Data. We have one of the most sophisticated voter databases in the state and we use that information to connect you with voters most likely to support you. Winning an election isn't about contacting the most people -- it's about contacting the right voters.
  
  
• Infrastructure. DFT is building a network of precinct leaders who know how to mobilize voters on election day. This infrastructure is intended to support your volunteers.
  
  
• Expertise. This may be your first election, but we've got lots of experience with campaigns. We can help you best manage your two most precious resources -- people and money -- for maximum effectiveness. We can help you be an effective communicator and manage your campaign for results.
  
  
• Money. Most campaigns spend money on the resources we give you above for free, but in some cases, we'll put cash into a campaign to help with expenses. That usually only happens when we see you're running a smart campaign using the techniques above. If you're committed to getting elected, we're committed to helping you.

If you're considering running for office, the time to take action is now. Planning should start at least two years before election day. If you have less time than that, then it's even more important that we get to work.

You don't have to decide now if you will run for office, but there are lots of things that need to be done before you become an official candidate.
